There are many areas in the band and colorguard program that could not function without the hard work and dedication of our parent volunteers. Volunteering can be a great way to become part of our organization. We are always in need of assistance with uniform repairs, equipment loading and transportation, food preparation and distribution, etc. It’s fun and a great way to meet other parents. And it does help our students.
Here are just a few of the things that our parent volunteers do behind the scenes to help keep our program running:
The boosters help make sure that members of the band look sharp and professional everywhere they perform. They help with the distribution of uniforms at Band Camp, home football games, parades, field show competitions, and community activities. They also help ensure that alterations and repairs are done as needed on any uniform or accessory during the season and afterwards.
The money the Band Boosters raise supplements LHHS District funds. The Band Boosters provide financial aid to purchase and repair instruments, uniforms and other equipment. These fundraisers include: our Annual 9/11 Memorial Car Show & Blood Drive, recruiting sponsors, Spring Gala, holiday gift wrapping booth, and much more.
The Band Boosters also have the opportunity to serve as an adult volunteer to chaperone band events including football games, parades, field show competitions, and festival concerts.
The Band Booster Board and band staff would like to give a special shout-out to all of the parents who have helped us these past few months in the band room with hats, uniforms and plumes, served corn at the football games, those who came out to field shows, pulled trailers, and donated food and water for our events. Without all of you, the band at LHHS could not continue.
Our kids depend on fundraisers and your contribution of fair share to replace old instruments, pay for competition fees, color guard flags, as well as equipment to elevate our field shows to a new level.
